III International Summer School in Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Technology: a meeting point for energy innovation

From 25 to 27 June 2025, the third edition of the International Summer School in Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Technology was held in Porto, an event that once again brought together students, researchers and professionals from the energy sector to share knowledge and experiences around renewable hydrogen. Organised by the University of Porto and sponsored by the AIHRE project, the summer school offered a comprehensive programme of technical conferences, thematic workshops and networking sessions.

During the three days, participants were able to delve into key aspects of the development of hydrogen as an energy vector, addressing topics such as electrolysis, regulatory challenges, industrial applications and the storage and distribution of renewable hydrogen. One of the highlights was the presentation by Henar Olmedo Gómez, deputy coordinator of the AIHRE project at CIDAUT, who shared advances and perspectives in the framework of cross-border cooperation for the promotion of hydrogen in the Interreg VA Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) region.

Consolidated as a leading forum for training and technical-scientific dialogue on hydrogen, this third edition of the Summer School reinforces the role of the AIHRE project as a catalyst for knowledge and innovation in the Iberian energy transition. The project team would like to thank all attendees, speakers and the organising team for their commitment to cleaner and more collaborative energy.
